At Tabernacle Christian Academy, we believe learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our student life program offers a variety of enriching opportunities that allow students to discover their passions, build friendships, and grow in character and faith.
TCA offers a rotating selection of student clubs, driven by student interest and creativity. Some clubs meet during the school day, while others take place after school. Past offerings have included Cooking Club, Game Club, Art Club, and Soccer Club. These clubs provide students with opportunities to explore new hobbies, collaborate with peers, and build leadership skills.
Our music program allows students to grow musically while using their talents to glorify God. We offer Chorus and General Music classes as part of our regular program. Students may also choose to learn a band instrument and participate in a band appropriate to their skill level.
In addition to the school-wide music program, private music lessons are available for piano and a variety of band instruments. Instrumentalists will have the opportunity to play in a band appropriate to their skill level. Students enrolled in private lessons participate in a recital each year to showcase their progress.
The whole school takes part in two major performances annually, presented either as a concert or a play. Students also have opportunities to minister through music in the local community, such as sharing music at an assisted living facility.
TCA has participated in Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program, where students learn to play the recorder and perform in a special children’s concert—an exciting blend of learning, performance, and musical appreciation.

Throughout the year, TCA hosts a variety of special events and field trips that support learning, foster spiritual growth, and create joyful memories.
CLEW (Christian Life Emphasis Week): A special week focused on exploring meaningful biblical themes. Each year concludes with a breakfast and a scenic outdoor experience at a beautiful location within the Hudson Valley region, offering students the chance to enjoy God’s creation and fellowship in a natural setting.
Career Day: Students enjoy hearing from guests who share about their professions and how they serve God through their work.
Annual Speech Meet: Each spring, students participate in a school-wide speech meet, where they present memorized poems, Bible verses, or short stories before a panel of judges. Students are evaluated on clarity, expression, and delivery, and are awarded ribbons based on their performance. The Speech Meet provides a valuable opportunity for students to develop confidence, poise, and effective communication skills in a supportive setting.
Middle School Class Trip: Our middle school students in grades 7 and 8 take a culminating trip each year. Destinations vary, with possible locations including Albany, New York City, or other sites of educational and cultural significance.
Elementary Field Trips: Younger students may take trips to places such as Hurds Family Farm or the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, with other exciting and age-appropriate outings planned each year.
Local History Trips: Students also explore the rich history of the Hudson Valley through visits to nearby landmarks such as the FDR Home and Library, Vanderbilt Mansion, and Locust Grove.
Spirit Days: Spirit Days are a beloved tradition at TCA, designed to bring our school family together through fun competitions, creative dress-up themes, and team-building activities. These special days promote joy, unity, and a shared sense of belonging within our student body.
